Created To Work A Witness In The Workplace 2 Corinthians 2:14-16
How you can be a witness for Christ in the workplace. 1. Draw attention to Christ and away from yourself. (2 Corinthians 2:14) Ways to draw attention to Christ: Give all victories to Him. Draw attention to Him.
Integrity In The Workplace Daniel 6:1-5 Keeping your integrity in the workplace.
1. Become known as a person of integrity. (Daniel 6:3) Daniel had an exceptional spirit. CSB (Exceptional qualities NIV). Ways Daniel’s exceptional qualities revealed themselves: Daniel taken into captivity. (Daniel 1:1-7) Interpreting the King’s dream. (Daniel 2:31-45) Refusing to worship anyone other than God. (Daniel 3:1-7)
Work As Worship 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 1 John 3:24 Our work can be a way to worship God. 1. Our body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit. (vs.19) Submit our thinking to His will. New ways of thinking about the people at work: Look for ways to love people at work. Look for ways to minister to people at work. Remember you work ultimately for God’s glory. Make sure obeying His commands is a top priority. 1 John 3:24 Hide His Word in your heart. Psalm 119:11, Matthew 6:21
Luke 24:44-49 What happened three days after Jesus died. 1. Jesus rose from the dead. (vss.46-47) Repentance and forgiveness of sin would become a reality. Salvation would become a reality. Acts 4:12, John 1:12 Spiritual growth would become a reality. (vs.49) Ways to grow spiritually a. Pray often. b. Develop a hatred for sin. c. Pursue right living. d. Seek out others who are spiritually growing. e. Have a plan for spiritual growth. Community would become a reality.
The Way Of The Cross Leads Home 1 Corinthians 1:18-25
Reasons that keep us from finding home. 1. Seeing the Cross as foolish. (vs.18) Foolish- Making no logical sense Reasons someone may view the Cross as foolishness. Someone who wants to save the world would not do so by dying. Was Jesus really that selfless that He would die to save the world? Romans 6:23 Viewing the Cross as foolishness leads only to frustration. (vss.20-21)
Pleasing God In The Workplace Colossians 3:23-25
Thoughts about pleasing God in the workplace 1. Heartfelt work pleases God. (vs.23) Heartfelt work is sincere work. Heartfelt work is reverent work. Heartfelt work is what God expects of us.
Reasons why work is part of God’s design for us 1. God created us to work. (vss.26-27) One of the reasons God Created us was for the purpose of working. We were created in God’s image. Fellowship with God should result in our work bringing Him glory. Colossians 3:23-24
