Frequently Asked Questions Answered Clearly Sincerely

I am not a believer and I don’t even have a Bible.  I am afraid I will feel out of place.

It’s okay if you don’t know much about God. You’ll still feel at home at Emmanuel. We welcome anyone who is trying to learn about God and would like to come to an understanding of salvation. The service is easy to follow, and the messages given are easy to understand.

You will be thrilled with how well you will fit in here. We come from diverse backgrounds but are unified by our faith in Jesus.

If I visit your church, will I get a bunch of calls or visits from you?

No, we simply hope that you would allow us to get in touch with you after your visit. This will enable us to address any questions you may have. You can choose whether you prefer us to contact you by personal visit, mail or telephone. It’s all up to you.

Do I have to provide money during offering?

No.  You will not be pressured to provide anything; you are our guest.

There are a bunch of different types of Baptist out there, which type are you?

We are members of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) and are united with other SBC churches in Illinois through the Illinois Baptist State Association.  What that means is that we are united with other Southern Baptist churches by what we believe.  You can read The Baptist Faith and Message 2000 for more information about our beliefs.

Okay, I will like to visit.  Where are you

Please see the attached map.  You can park right along the road next to the church or in the parking lot of the school that is our neighbor.

There are two doors you can enter.  You can see the front door to the sanctuary as you drive up to the church.  Then there is another door toward the back that will lead you into the classroom hallway. Just follow the signs on the wall to the sanctuary.

We would love to have you join us.

Are you a follower of Jesus Christ looking for a place to worship? Or are you someone who is seeking more meaning in life?
